RAINY DAYS

Nothing better than time with the LORD on a rainy day

If you counted what the outside looked like yesterday here in my home city, different words come to mind. Gloomy, dismal, or even unmotivated. How do you feel on a rainy, cloudy day?

This is the kind of day that makes most people curl up with a good book, or a good movie with a cup of joe, tea, or hot chocolate under a cozy blanket and fritter away the day.

I have never been one to like cold weather. Rain in summer, spring, or fall is refreshing but in winter, give me my blanket please!

Of course, there is nothing wrong with spending some time relaxing. It should be taken advantage of when given the opportunity. Yet, days like this one also calls for more time spent with the LORD. Before you curl up with a book or movie, curl up with the Word of God.

Now you may say, "I already had my devotion for the day." And of course, that is a good thing!

But at other times excuses are made why maybe you didn't get to your devotion. I find, and this for myself also, that the #1 excuse is time. There is just too much to do so I will get to my devotion when I can. Think about this, when this happens you are just not putting off devotion time, you are putting off the LORD. Time spent in God's Word is time spend with Him.

Now of course, rainy days are also good to get that much needed pantry organized, or to finish that project that has been collecting dust in your closet. But next time there is a rainy day headed your way, think about spending some time or some extra time with the LORD. And of course a doggy who wants to snuggle doesn't hurt either

Snuggles with doggies and the Bible are the best

Rainy days are days to be thankful for because you can slow down and put priorities in order. No matter where you live in the states during the winter months, whether it is mild or wild, look forward to days that call for a cozy blanket and not just any book, but for the Book.

God Bless,
